This is the journal of a once-in-a-lifetime trip around the world. One year, 35-odd countries, and with perseverance and a little luck: a book at the end of it. 12 months across Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa - in search of what makes people tick and gives them happiness. About Me
- Sam Mendelson
- After years of abstract ideas, I've put on hold my career in London at a think-tank and helping to edit a magazine in order to travel across the world and write a book about how people's aspirations, their concept of happiness, their values, vary as a function of nationality, race, religion, age and socio-economic status. This book will hopefully fill a lacuna on the shelves for a non-empirical, qualitative study of what people are like - and will involve many interviews over 5 continents. This blog will be of random thoughts and exerpts from my travel writings.

I did! I got this address from a (v.sexy!) guy I met on my plane home to London who said that his friend was writing a book and this blog.
I'm now addicted so hurry up with the next installment!
